Corporate Clients

3M Company. Led a multidisciplinary team in assessing actual and potential human and ecological exposure pathways to persistent chemicals and byproducts throughout the product life cycle.


Apple Inc. Provided consulting services to integrate Design for Environment (DFE) strategies and tools into the company's new product development processes for desktop computers.


Cinergy Corporation (Duke Power)Spearheaded establishment of a comprehensive sustainability program, helping the company to rank near the top of its industry sector on the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes.


Dow Chemical. Managed a multi-year initiative that introduced a pioneering approach to supply chain resilience, which was adopted by the company and applied to over 20 global business units.


General Motors. Oversaw a collaborative project that identified opportunities for more effective utilization of life cycle performance data in GM’s vehicle design and development processes.


Owens Corning. Provided subject matter expertise to help this global leader in building materials develop and launch a new sustainability program, including selection of environmental performance metrics.

  

Scotts Miracle-Gro. Conducted executive strategy sessions to develop an environmental stewardship approach that incorporates sustainability into the company's business processes.

 


Industry Consortia

 

Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI). Helped this global electronics and communications consortium to develop a supplier self-assessment questionnaire covering labor, ethics, environment, and health & safety in the supply chain.


Global Environmental Management Initiative (GEMI). Teamed with industry leaders to develop several tools and reports that demonstrate how sustainability performance contributes to profitability and shareholder value drivers such as innovation, reputation, human capital, and stakeholder relationships.

World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). Oversaw a landmark study of the worldwide cement industry, working with ten global companies including Holcim, Lafarge, and Cemex. Recommendations for the industry to pursue profitable growth in a socially responsible manner were largely adopted in the industry action plan.


Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). Led the development of an ISO 14001-compatible environmental performance measurement system for electric utilities, and helped EPRI member companies with implementation.


U.S. Business Council for Sustainable Development. Collaborated on establishment of by-product synergy (BPS) networks across the U.S. and development of computer-based tools for optimization of waste recovery and reuse pathways.
